Ryan Van Oost, the shop’s manager, has witnessed first-hand the storm that has descended upon this shrine to trading cards.
“There’s your Braves section right over here,” Van Oost offered, swooping an arm toward a territory that was evidently raided during a recent mercantile mayhem. “We just had a wild weekend.”
To say “wild” would be akin to describing a hurricane as a light drizzle. The prospect mania is so fervent it seems every store, big or small, struggles to keep up with the ravenous demand.
